Course Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The North Texas Cochlear Implant (CI) Symposium provides a trans-disciplinary panel of speakers who explain the relationship between communication outcomes and daily device use, provides strategies for lexical-semantic organization used by typically developing children, and describes how to assess barriers to effective vaccination practices and identify underserved CI patient populations among other topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Course\nObjectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At the conclusion of the\nconference, participants will be able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Identify underserved\ncochlear implant patient populations.<\/li>
  2. Explain the relationship\nbetween communication outcomes and daily device use in young children with CI.<\/li>
  3. Identify strategies of\nlexical-semantic organization used by typically developing children. <\/li>
  4. Assess barriers to effective\nvaccination practices<\/li>
  5. Recognize similarities and\ndifferences in social communication by auditory status<\/li>
  6. Describe how the\nrelationship among implanted electrodes, angular insertion depths, and the\nspiral ganglion can be used to assess stimulation strategies<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
