The UT Dallas Callier Center provides\ncomprehensive, coordinated clinical services for our families by partnering\nwith audiologists, physicians, educators, mental health professionals and other\nrehabilitation specialists in the Dallas\/Fort Worth area. We work closely with\nresearchers at UT Dallas and The University of Texas Southwestern Medical\nCenter to continuously develop innovative, creative, evidence-based practice\nmodels for diagnosis and treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our certified, licensed staff of\nspeech-language pathologists provides in-depth, comprehensive evaluations to\naccurately describe and diagnose speech, language and feeding disorders, as\nwell as provide appropriate treatment recommendations and necessary referrals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Evaluations are conducted in the following areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Purpose: to assess children who have suspected speech delays\/disorders (i.e., articulation, voice and\/or fluency concerns) and\/or difficulty understanding and using language (i.e., difficulty or delay in using words to communicate, putting together words and sentences, asking\/answering questions, following directions, telling a story, describing or explaining a task, and\/or developing social skills).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Age group: Children of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Purpose: to assess children who have\nsuspected sensory or motor-based feeding disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Age group: Children of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Purpose: to assess children who have a\ncomplicated, unclassified or ambiguous speech sound production disorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Age group: 2 to 18 years of age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Not sure if you or your child needs a speech-language evaluation? Schedule a consultation with one of our speech-language pathologists today! A consultation does not include testing or therapy and does not include the child<\/strong>. This 30-minute appointment can be done via teletherapy, over the phone or in person. Suggestions for additional services may be suggested based on the consultation. Check out our FAQs<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Our professional speech-language\npathologists work with children individually to provide intensive, one-on-one,\nfamily-centered therapeutic intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In conjunction with parents and caregivers, our speech-language pathologists will develop an individualized therapy plan with short- and long-term goals addressing specific areas of need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Therapy activities center on functional,\ncontextual activities to improve skills, as well as incorporate\nparent\/caregiver training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Individual therapy is provided for a variety of diagnoses, including but not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n SPeech and ARtiCulation (SPARC) group is designed to improve speech sound production, speech movement patterns and intelligibility in children ages 3 and 4 years old. The group program is appropriate for children who are motivated to communicate, but their verbal speech is often not understood by communication partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The program uses a thematic play-based learning environment to support relevant, meaningful, and functional speech and language therapy for the children enrolled. The program will also introduce and address phonological awareness (pre-reading) skills. Individual goals are addressed for children who have moderate to severe speech sound (phonological, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, motor speech) disorders and delays.
