The program is a state-licensed child development program in collaboration with The University of Texas at Dallas, The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the Dallas Independent School District (Dallas IS).&nbsp;<strong>Only families affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center or UT Dallas are eligible for enrollment<\/strong>.&nbsp; All Deaf Education students are enrolled through Dallas ISD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program Goals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>To provide for\nall aspects of a child\u2019s developmental needs, including communication and\nlanguage skills, physical abilities, emotional and social growth and cognitive\ndevelopment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To emphasize\nlearning as a social process that stresses exploration and interaction with\nadults, other children and materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To emphasize\nlearning as an active process, using experiences that are concrete, real and\nrelevant to the lives of young children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To foster an\nenvironment in which children have an opportunity to communicate, play and\ndevelop friendships with children whose interests, abilities, levels of hearing\nand\/or methods of communication may be different than their own.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To provide\nopportunities for caregiving relationships that are the foundation of trust and\nfuture learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Curriculum<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p> <em><strong>All classrooms:<\/strong><\/em> <br>Conscious Discipline is a whole-school solution for social-emotional learning, discipline, self-regulation and classroom management. These strategies and structures transform school culture into a safe haven of cooperation, constructive problem-solving and academic success. All classrooms use strategies and techniques from Dr. Becky Bailey\u2019s Conscious Discipline to teach self-regulation skills emphasizing cooperation rather than fear-based discipline. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/consciousdiscipline.com\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/consciousdiscipline.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children&#8217;s\nongoing development is documented using the web-based HighScope Child\nObservation Record (COR Advantage). The program uses an app that is shared with\nparents which includes videos, pictures and written observations to document\ntheir child\u2019s ongoing development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <em><strong>The Infant\/Toddler Curriculum:<\/strong><\/em> <br>Callier CDP Infant and Toddler program integrates The Program for Infant and Toddler Care (PITC) <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pitc.org\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.pitc.org<\/a> approach to ensure that teachers are trained on best practices and developmentally appropriate care. Also, environments allow for scaffold learning opportunities and are reflective of the children in care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>The Preschool Curriculum:<\/strong><br> <\/em>In addition to Conscious Discipline, the preschool curriculum is based on HighScope. <a href=\"https:\/\/highscope.org\">https:\/\/highscope.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The HighScope Preschool curriculum uses the principles of active learning and supports the child\u2019s positive interactions with adults and peers.&nbsp; The content areas include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Approaches to\nLearning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social and\nEmotional Development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physical\nDevelopment and Health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Language,\nLiteracy and Communication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mathematics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creative Arts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Science and\nTechnology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social Studies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>While learning in these content areas prepares children for later schooling, HighScope takes the learning process beyond traditional academic subjects by applying methods that promote independence, curiosity, decision-making, cooperation, persistence, creativity, and problem-solving in young children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Schedules\nfor all age groups include opportunities for outdoor play and gross motor\nactivities, daily care routines including mealtimes and naps, hands-on\nchild-choice learning experiences, opportunities for interactive play with\npeers and group learning activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daily\nschedules for infants and toddlers are individual, based on each child\u2019s\ndeveloping patterns.
