Preschool Prelinguistic-Skill Acquisition for Language & Speech (PALS) provides intensive communication intervention for children ages 3 to 5 years with significant communication delays. Children who would benefit from the program include those diagnosed with a significant receptive/expressive language disorder, Autism and other developmental delays, particularly those who currently use gestures or limited words to communicate.
Each child is paired 1:1 with a graduate student, as they learn to participate with peers and adults in group interactions. These individual and group interventions are incorporated into the daily routine through activities that promote important foundations for language, speech and social interactions. The program focuses on building opportunities for children to jointly attend with others and to understand that their gestures, words and/or pictures are ways to express their feelings, wants and ideas to others.
Cost: $90/session, may be insurance eligible plus $150 nonrefundable enrollment fee
